animal close-upsBackground mirror photosleading linesanglesROT and golden ratioSubjectsFor this project, I took many. many pictures and had to focus on a subject in each. To enhance these subjects, I used many different techniques, like getting close so you can't see any background, making it stand out as a bright color, etc. I used the flash in half of these photos also, to make the lighting better for the subject. Overall, in each picture you can tell what it is I'm trying to get you to focus on. rule of thirds part 2These photos were all shot in the cafeteria at school with different subjects (people). I noticed I took a lot of straight on photos and started taking rule of thirds photos, where the subjects were off to the side. final projectThis whole trimester I've wanted a person to take somewhere for pictures. I wanted to do a whole photo shoot with them, and have amazing pictures come out. I believe that I did that here. I didn't use one of the newer, nicer cameras so some pictures are a bit weird, but that aside, these pictures turned out like hoped they would. Thank you to my model, Kylah brown, for being a stunning subject. bokehI think this project would have been easier at Christmas time, because finding these types of lights to work well with what I wanted the photo to be was challenging. Hopefully I pulled it off. Extra photos (B&W)Leading linesWe had to take 10 photos of objects with leading lines. The first two are my favorite for this subject. Note: every single picture was taken in or right outside of this school. I didn't have very many subjects (little to none at all). I need to start asking people to model for me or find an inanimate object that can be used for a high-quality photo. Also note: if you can't tell, in the last picture, there is a squirrel. AnglesThis project was about taking a photo at an angle. Including below, above, to the side, behind, etc. I think i did pretty well, but I wish I could've gotten more subjects, like people, to pose for me. Rule of Thirds and Golden RatioThe first 5 photos are golden ratio, and the last 5 are Rule of Thirds.
1. I am so in love with this picture. The colors really compliment each other and the water is beautiful. I took this at many angles. and this one was my favorite. 2. I spilled my foundation for this picture, yes. This picture works because the background is a little messy. It would've been messier, but i cropped it. 3. My main focus in this picture was the school, so I blurred out those 4 cars. 4. This is my driveway. I live out in the country so there's a lot of things like tractors, trailers, and wagons. This really captures living out there in the morning. 5. This is a little boring, but I tried making the chair pop out and the background darker, giving it kind of a creepy feeling. I don't know if I succeeded or not. 6./7./8. I love taking pictures of people, especially photogenic ones. These were around the school, but I'd like to expand it into taking someone somewhere and having a photo-shoot. 9. This picture was at the park. You can see there's a tree in the background, but you aren't focused on it. You're focused on the plaque, which is what I wanted. 10. We didn't go outside this day because of the weather, but I still put this gnome in the rain and took a picture. I wish there were more raindrops in the puddles, but that's okay. I really like the raindrops on his head. subjectsFor these 5 pictures, I walked around the city of Abingdon. 1. I wanted to capture something with the word "Abingdon" in it. This historical building was very pretty on the outside, so of course I had to take a picture. 2. I wasn't expecting the flower photo to come out as well as it did. It really focuses on the front flower, while the other two are blurred in the background. It's also a gorgeous color. 3/4. I took multiple pictures of flags, and these are the only two that captured what I wanted. Other pictures were blurry or I got them at the wrong time. I think I needed to adjust the shutter speed. I know that for next time. 5. In this one, I really like how many signs there are. I think they all come together and compliment each other. In the five pictures, my objects were jar of sand, a scrunchie, and a pencil.
1, 2, 3. - The first three pictures are my favorite, they were shot with the Nixon Camera. At first I couldn't get the scrunchie to focus, but I think that I finally did. The lighting is just the bright classroom lights. I like these photos. 4, 5. - These two were shot with a different camera. The lighting is different from the first three pictures. It's dimmer, which I do not like. They are grainy, again, which I do not like. It doesn't look focused. Without a doubt I can say I like the newer camera much better. |
